Title: “Achieving Success with Clear Aligner Therapy”
Speakers: William V. Gierie, DDS, MS
Course Description: Clear Aligner Therapy is not a new technique to orthodontics yet there remains a lot of conflicting information about its capabilities, uses and best practices. Join Dr. Gierie as he reviews the various types of Clear Aligner Therapy techniques and presents strategies for achieving success. Topics will include Treatment Planning and Case Selection, Smile Design Using Clincheck, Combination Treatment, Integrating TAD’s with Aligners, Invisalign for the Open Bite and Deep Bite Patient, How to facilitate Invisalign Treatment with a Diode Laser, Class II/III treatment, Crossbites, Invisalign for the Implant and Restorative Patient, Invisalign Teen, Interproximal Reduction and Finishing Tips and Techniques.Detailed treatment planning approaches will be discussed for the various case types with emphasis on a systematic approach to Clear Aligner Therapy.
Biography: Gierie-Head-Shot-bowtie200Dr. Gierie earned his DDS and MS in Orthodontics at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has been part of the Align Technology Speaker’s Bureau for the last 9 years and has lectured across North American and Europe on Invisalign techniques. Dr. Gierie is a part-time faculty member in the UNC Department of Orthodontics with emphasis on Invisalign and diode lasers. Dr. Gierie is the newest member of Align Technology’s Clinical Advisory Board, an 8 member panel of orthodontists who provide feedback and ideas on product development. He maintains a solo private practice in Wilmington, NC.
